Russia MPs to mull making media 'foreign agents'
November 24, 2012
Lawmakers from Russia's ruling party today submitted a bill to parliament that would qualify media companies that receive funding from abroad as foreign agents, along the lines of hugely controversial legislation on NGOs.

The bill, submitted to the State Duma lower house by United Russia MPs Yevgeny Fedorov and Anton Romanov, would make media houses that receive over 50 percent of their income from abroad bear the label of "foreign agent".
