Mourners carrying a giant saffron banner, said to be around a kilometre long. The funeral procession still on its way to Sena Bhavan, where the body is expected to be kept for a few minutes. The Shiv Sena Bhavan at Dadar, built in 1974 is where Bal Thackeray used to hold court every day. It is the headquarters of the Shiv Sena.

The old facade of the building was like a fortress, but it was done away with in the refurbishments a few years ago. The area around the Sena Bhavan is completely blocked to traffic. The body will be taken inside for a few minutes, but no mourners except for the family will be allowed inside.
