West Bengal Chief Minister and chief of UPA ally Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee, reacted sharply to government's decision to hike petrol prices, terming it as 'unacceptable.'

Petrol price hike is unjust and unilateral. It was done without our knowledge, she added.

However, she added, that Trinamool Congress won't topple the government 'like CPI-M', which will create economic and political instability.
