Now the Samajwadi Party's general secretary Mohan Singh says Mamata Banerjee decided on the candidates without consulting them. Singh says the party may be open to compromise on the Presidential candidate. The SP itself never thought of a name for the Presidential candidate and wanted to have an "open discussion" with the UPA. "We cannot go with NDA due to obvious reasons," he said.
