Our Delhi sources tell us that Shamsher K Sheriff is likely to be appointed as the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha immediately after  Hamid Ansari gets his second term as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha in mid August. Presently, Sheriff is Secretary to Chairman Rajya Sabha.

A new look Secretariat for Vice President Hamid Ansari  is expected from September as he will select a Secretary and also a Joint Secretary from the foreign services to assist him in international affairs and also to coordinate the national and international media.
