Google in talks with China over its Maps

Google is in discussions with the Chinese government as it seeks the grant of a licence to continue to operate its Google Maps service in the country, reports thenextweb.com.

According to the report, a google spokesperson has confirmed that they are in discussions with the Chinese government about offering a map product in that country.

The web site also put out an update quoting Penn Olson that the Chinese media has reported that google can offer its maps product in China while its application is under process.
