Corrupt nexus of bus owners and police led to rape

Contract carriage buses, commonly known as chartered buses, openly violate permit rules on city roads. Their 'illegal' movement across the Capital is aided by a deadly nexus between bus owners, police officers, traffic and transport officials. These chartered buses halt at regular bus stops, pick passengers, charge Rs 20- Rs 30 and drop them at their destinations like any other DTC or cluster bus right under the nose of traffic officials, local police and enforcement officials of the transport department.
