Just in: Sudheendra Kulkarni, accused in the cash-for-votes scam, and former aide of BJP senior leader LK Advani, has been sent to judicial custody in Tihar. The BJP ideologue is believed to be the kingpin in the scam. The police say that Kulkarni was used to set up a trap for the UPA during the 2006 trust vote. Though Kulkarni had filed for interim bail in the morning, the court has rejected his bail plea.

Another accused, Suhail Hindustani's custody, has been extended till October 14.
