Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai has arrived in Kandahar to attend his half brother's funeral.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton telephoned Afghan President Karzai to condole the assassination of Ahmed Wali Karzai.

"The United States condemns this murder in the strongest terms. For too long, the people of Afghanistan have suffered under the threat of violence,  intolerance, and extremism," Clinton said after the phone call.
